Usually when the alarm goes off, I smack or shove (or whatever works) my husband to get him out of bed to go to work. Occasionally, my husband gets up and turns off the alarm and falls back asleep that goes to say I also fall back asleep. Obviously, this makes him late for work.
Yesterday, the alarm goes off. He gets up and I fall back asleep. My husband has always left early, but recently he's been getting up at 4:00am to go to work. So I feel it's a closer to a normal time of waking up and I open one eye to realize the sun is peeking through the blinds. Then I realize that there's still a warm body next to me. I think Oh Shit. He's going to be really late for work. I shove him with my shoulder, pushing him kind of hard only to open my other eye to see that it's Child #1 sleeping next to me and now she's on the floor. It's probably a good thing she was still sleeping. Apparently my strength in the morning is stronger than I thought.
Note to self: Open both eyes before shoving.
Life with three children and a dog is a journey with multiple hats. All these hats might not fit perfectly, but I pop a seem or restitch one where needed in my attempt to be an everyday woman.

Borders
So when you lift up the seats in your car, what do you find?
I find chewed gum stuck in a crack I can't even get my finger into. I find a pound of goldfish crackers and crumbs everywhere. I find suckers with a tiny bit of candy still stuck on the stick, which is stuck to the carpeted floor of the car. I find juice boxes crumpled up. I find wrappers of all kinds of food and candy.
Now the real question is...why don't ants ever find their way into your car when you have all these things on the floor?
But in your house you sweep everyday and mop once a week (okay I know more like once a month. Give me a break I do a lot of spot cleaning. My house is way cleaner than the car at least with the food part.) and ants can still find their way into my house?
Of course, I have no problems spraying the borders of possible entrance ways into my house which does solve the problem, but it still makes me wonder about the car.

Speedy
My favorite part about working out is when it is over I can take a nice relaxing shower. Today I hopped into the shower only to have a nice big fuzzy spider crawling up the wall next to the shower curtain. Since it was moving away from me, I was willing to let it live while I washed up. No problem. Right?
Cold weather or warm weather, the spiders love to come inside. It amazes me every year, but I guess that's the price you pay to live by a lake.
So I continue with my shower, except I keep glancing outside the shower curtain to see where it is. I couldn't find him. Then I freak out thinking it came back into the shower. I look around . No spider, but I spot him moving really fast almost like it was being chased by (what chases a spider, oh I got it) a paper towel ready to squish it. By the time I finish up my shower, the spider (let's call him Speedy) has already done a full lap around the ceiling of the entire bathroom.
Now Speedy has caught my attention. I have a heart so I let him continue his laps around the ceiling. I've never seen a spider move so much. Usually they stop and take a break, but not my Speedy he keeps going and going.
I finally finish getting dressed. At this point, I counted about seven laps around the ceiling. If I didn't have to go pick up Child# 3 and my nephew, I might have watched Speedy finish out his marathon race. The end was near for poor Speedy, but I think he knew it too. He stopped running when the paper towel was catching up to him. Well at least, Speedy had a good run. Have a great day!
